Grant Ellis visited the hometowns of his final four women on this week’s episode of The Bachelor. It gave him a chance to meet the family and friends of his possible future wife. An inside source revealed the truth about the Season 29 Hometown dates. What secret did they uncover? Keep reading for all the details.
Zoe McGrady May Be Bachelor Nation First
Grant Ellis’ season of The Bachelor seems to be progressing at warp speed. The season premiered in late January but we’re already at Hometown dates. In this week’s episode, Grant visited the hometowns of each of his final four ladies, Dina Lupancu, Juliana Pasquarosa, Litia Garr, and Zoe McGrady.

However, what’s not progressing is Grant’s connection with his final four. At least according to fans. Many thought he sent the wrong people home. In fact, fans were really confused on why he kept Zoe McGrady. She might be the first contestant in the history of the show to make it all the way to Hometown dates without ever having a one-on-one date with the lead.

But that isn’t the only strange thing about her Hometown date.

The Hometown dates on The Bachelor often feature large homes or even mansions. But do the contestants or their families really live there? Not according to one Facebook user. An insider spilled in the Bachelor And Bachelorette Fans Unite Facebook group that the home wasn’t even Zoe’s.
“Zoe’s hometown date home is not really her house. It was shot at my neighbor across the street’s house. It was a fixer upper that was knocked down about a year or so ago. Then they built a custom $3 mil home! I watched them film it in the Fall,” the neighbor wrote.

Bachelor Nation Fans React
It seems the Bachelor fan’s tea was a little cold. The post received multiple comments from people who already knew that. One person who competed on American Idol shared their personal experience with filming at a fake home.
“I was on American Idol, and we even did the same thing when they came to film in my hometown. Security reasons, mainly… too many weirdos in this world,” they revealed.
Check out some of the other reactions to the neighbor revealing that Zoe McGrady doesn’t actually live in the house filmed for her Hometown date.
- “I think a lot of the houses are not where the people live they’re too staged looking in the decor”
- “That’s not uncommon to use other houses. Kind of help keep their privacy”
- “Yeah I believe it. Most of those places look like high end hotels or rental property”
- “They rent. Renting allows them to control the environment. They usually pick homes that are large, white and well lit.
- “Why does it matter in what house it’s filmed?? Isn’t it supposed to be about meeting the families and getting to know each other?”
- “After reading all these comments. This show is kind of ruined for me. Everything about it is so fake!!!!”
