Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas Faces Allegations Of Being Alcoholic
Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas is already divorced from Stephen Stagliano. However, according to a report from In Touch, Pappas has been accused of being an alcoholic by her ex-husband for many years. This all has apparently escalated into what would become the incident that she was arrested for. What happened?
According to the report, Lynn Stagliano who is believed to be his mother filed a declaration into their divorce documents months after it was finalized. She wanted it documented that she went to help DeAnna get her son ready for school. Lynn’s statement read, “On Wednesday, February 26, at 7:38 a.m., I went to DeAnna’s house to help get Austin to school. I very clearly smelled alcohol on DeAnna’s breath. I put Austin in the car and left.”
DeAnna and Stephen’s custody agreement contained orders that neither one of them could consume alcohol over the legal limit when it was their time with their children. They also could not take narcotics within twelve hours of being with the kids.
Stephen has accused her of drinking for quite some time. In fact, she claims that he was coaching their daughter to look for alcohol around the house. DeAnna wrote, “The basis of [Stephen’s] is based on his fabrication that I am an alcoholic. This is wholly false and fabricated as way for [Stephen] to gain leverage in his attempt to alienate the children from me.”
She went on to say that she is not an alcoholic.
DeAnna Had An Altercation With Stephen
On February 26, Stephen showed up to get their daughter and DeAnna walked her out to the car. She claims that he asked her to step closer to him so he could smell her breath and ensure she was not drunk. She denies consuming any alcohol at that time. Ignoring him, she walked back into her garage.
DeAnna continued writing that she heard a noise behind her and realized that Stephen had followed her into the garage. She demanded he leave but he refused. She tried to close the door but he blocked it. DeAnna went into the house and locked her door. However, she returned to the garage when she still heard noises out there.
She wrote, “Stephen took his hands, grabbing me, and then forcefully shoved me. He pushed my back again. In fear that he would hurt me, I immediately went back inside the house and locked the door while I waited for the police to arrive.”
DeAnna Pappas Was Arrested
Stephen called the police around midnight and the officers told DeAnna that he was accusing her of being drunk and was pressing charges against her for domestic violence.
She was arrested and taken into custody. He told officers she was the aggressor in the situation which she denied. DeAnna wrote, “At no time was I requested to test for alcohol despite Stephen’s allegations. In fact, the officer that arrested me exhibited no concern that I was at all intoxicated.”
She was arrested on February 27 for a misdemeanor and booked. DeAnna was released the same day after posting a $20,000 bond. She voluntarily agreed to a drug test. She tested negative.
On March 7, DeAnna Pappas filed a restraining order against Stephen Stagliano. She wants him to be ordered to stay 100 yards away from her.
There is a court date set for later this month.
