The Bachelor franchise has been entertaining reality TV fans for over two decades. But now it seems the end could be near. The show has been hit hard in recent years with declining ratings and more drama backstage than on-screen. In the latest twist, two more producers are stepping down, sparking fears of cancellation. Keep reading for all the details on the future of the show.
Two More Bachelor Producers Quit
ABC confirmed in February that The Bachelorette spinoff was on pause for the foreseeable future. The network previously took Bachelor In Paradise off last year’s schedule and aired a Golden Bachelorette spinoff instead.
Pulling The Bachelorette meant that many crew members were let go. Things only got worse for the franchise’s reputation when news broke earlier this month that two producers with the show abruptly resigned. Co-executive producers Michael Margolis and Keely Booth handed in their resignations. Keely Booth is the husband of Bachelor showrunner Claire Freeland. Now Freeland is out, too.
Deadline reports that Freeland and Bennett Graebner are both leaving the show. According to the outlet, the two are negotiating an exit agreement with ABC.

What exactly led to all the sudden departures isn’t clear. However, the exits came shortly after Deadline published reports of a “toxic” and abusive workplace. The Golden Bachelor showrunner Jason Ehrlich quietly left after Gerry Turner’s season.
Disgraced Show Creator Reacts
Mike Fleiss created the main Bachelor show in 2002. He was forced out in 2023 amid allegations of misconduct. He still regularly posts about the show on social media. Fleiss seemed to take joy in the mass exodus. He tweeted “Told ya…” with the hashtag #TheBachelor right after Deadline reported the latest exits.

Bachelor Nation fans also reacted to the news on social media. Some were concerned for the future of the show, but others were hopeful the changes could make the show watchable again.
- “It seemed like there was no way for the show to move forward with them at the helm, so I’m taking this as a good sign.”
- “The writing was on the wall when The bachelorette was paused and news came out that Claire and Bennett had lawyered up.”
- “Behind the scenes sounds more and more like that show Unreal was pretty accurate”
- “Oooo this show is getting cancelled”
- “Lets be real, they are gonna be very unlikely to get a showrunner for this who isn’t pretty toxic. I’m not saying they’re wrong to kick these two out.”
What It Means For Bachelor In Paradise
Is Bachelor In Paradise in danger after so many behind-the-scenes changes? ABC seems to be going ahead with Season 10 of spinoff. It hasn’t started filming yet, nor does it have an airdate. The network is also rumored to be planning a second Golden Bachelor season to film this summer.

However, Deadline reports that none of the co-executive producers who quit were in charge of BIP. The outlet reports that the spinoff has a new showrunner, Scott Teti.
Does it surprise you that more Bachelor showrunners quit the show? Are you worried the franchise will be canceled? Sound off in the comments.
