DeAnna went on to lead Season 4 of The Bachelorette. She got engaged to professional snowboarder Jesse Csincsak, but they broke up after a few months. She later met and fell in love with Stephen Stagliano, the brother of Bachelorette Season 5 alum Michael Stagliano.
The couple were married in 2011 and welcomed two children together. However, she filed for divorce in 2023 after over a decade of marriage.
Custody Agreement Raises Eyebrows
DeAnna Pappas’ two children, Addison and Austin, were at the center of the divorce court battle. The former couple initially couldn’t agree on a custody agreement. And when they did, it wasn’t the typical custody arangement.
The Bachelorette star and her ex agreed to joint custody with a special condition: neither is allowed to drink or do drugs while it is their turn to have the kids. Stephen Stagliano has made allegations in the past that his ex-wife has a problem with alcohol. She denies the claim.
DeAnna Pappas Arrested For Domestic Violence
Bachelor Nation fans were shocked last month when new broke that DeAnna Pappas had been arrested. The legal trouble came after an incident involving her ex-husband when they were exchanging custody of the kids.
Her ex arrived at her house to pick up their daughter, but when DeAnna Pappas came out to the car, he thought he smelled alcohol and demanded that he let him smell her breath. However, she refused and went into the garage.
According to DeAnna’s side of the story, he followed her and allegedly shoved her. She retreated to the house and waited for the police. However, when the police got there, they ended up arresting the reality star after her ex accused her of domestic violence and being drunk.
Bachelorette Alum Reveals New Details In Court Documents
Deanna Pappas voluntarily took a drug and alcohol test that came back negative. She’s since filed a restraining order against her ex. She filed new evidence with the court that allegedly proves she didn’t commit domestic violence against Stephen Stagliano.
The incident between DeAnna Pappas and her ex-husband was witnessed by their daughter. However, according to The Bachelorette alum, there was another witness. She filed a statement with the court from her neighbor, Alex Ingram.
The court documents were obtained by In Touch. According to the neighbor, he went outside at the request of his wife to see what was going on. He wrote that he approached Stephen Stagliano to scold him for calling the police on his ex-wife. The neighbor claims that he didn’t see any marks or evidence of violence on Stephen’s face.
The neighbor also relayed a conversation he had with the responding officer. According to the statement by the neighbor, the officer said DeAnna Pappas was arrested because a domestic violence call required an arrest, and she was the one accused.
It seems the neighbor didn’t witness the actual incident between DeAnna Pappas and her ex. The judge has yet to rule on the Bachelorette star’s request for a restraining order against her ex.
