Theresa Nist And Gerry Turner’s Relationship
Golden Bachelor alum Theresa Nist is opening up and sharing her thoughts on Gerry Turner’s new relationship. When Gerry began being open about his new girlfriend Lana, he revealed that he had told Theresa about her before letting the world in on his little secret.
As for Theresa and Gerry, they met and fell for each other during his season of the show. They got engaged and were offered a televised wedding. What fans may not have known is that ABC reportedly told the happy couple they could get married in January on live television, with the wedding or the dreams, or it would all be on them at their own pace.
Theresa shared this piece of information about their wedding with US Weekly during a recent interview. While she said she never likes to have regrets, she feels the smart thing to do would have been to wait and get to know each other better. However, she maintains her feelings for Gerry were real at the time and they both believed they would be together for the rest of their lives.
Sadly, three months after tying the knot, they filed for divorce.
Theresa Nist Shares Thoughts On Gerry Turner’s Relationship
Their divorce has been final for nearly a year and now Gerry has found someone new. He did speak with Theresa about her before going public.
What does Theresa think? She confirmed that Gerry did call her. She said,
“He brought that up to both of them to say, ‘What should I do?’ And Leslie said, ‘Of course, tell Theresa, she’ll be happy for you.’ And so the next day, he texted me and I said, ‘Can you talk?’ He said, ‘I just wanna let you know I met someone.’ I said, ‘That’s wonderful. I’m so happy for you.’ He goes, ‘I was afraid to tell you.’ ‘Why would you be afraid? I only want your happiness.’ Like, if this was the way it happened for him to find his person to go on the show, get married, and then find his person this way, then it was meant to be.”
As for why things didn’t work out with Gerry and Theresa, she said she may never share the reason behind their split was for her. However, she did say it had nothing to do with location or his cancer diagnosis.
She also shared that she would only say, for now, that one can’t really get to know someone in that short amount of time.
