However, life had other plans and Katie was faced with the harsh reality that a lump she thought would be nothing turned out to be breast cancer. Now, she is preparing to fight and win her battle with the deadly disease.
Katie has been transparent about the lump she found in her breast and what prompted her to seek medical advice after it would not go away. She’s also been keeping fans in the loop on all her testing and treatment plans. One thing she did not share until today was what stage of breast cancer she is facing.
Katie went to Instagram Stories to answer some more questions about what is to come. She will move to New York this weekend with her fiance Jeff Arcuri. This is when her cancer battle will begin.
First, Katie will undergo fertility treatment. She noted that she will be going through two weeks of fertility treatments. She and Jeff opted to have embryos frozen. Katie wanted to do this before going through any chemotherapy.
As for what cancer stage she has, she revealed that she is triple positive for invasive ductal carcinoma. The stage is still being determined but they believe it is likely stage 3.
