Things were rocky with Season 25 Bachelor Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell after photos of her at a plantation party resurfaced. Public pressure led to them briefly breaking up but quickly reconciling. The couple had been going strong since 2021 before their shocking split.
During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Rachael Kirkconnell revealed how she’s handling the split two months later. “It’s something to not dwell on, but something that I wonder if I’ll always be a little bummed out about,” she admitted.
However, she called it a “blessing in disguise” and something that “needed to happen.” The reality star continued, “I don’t even know for what reason, but I’m trusting it. I’m trusting the process. I’m doing good and things are OK. As sad as it is, it happens for a reason.”

Bachelor Nation host Jesse Palmer said that both Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James are welcome to join the upcoming 10th season of the popular spinoff. The show returns sometime this year after being paused in 2024. Some fans wanted Rachael as the next Bachelorette, but ABC revealed they are putting that show on pause indefinitely.
“I don’t know if I’m able to date someone within the franchise again. I don’t know if I can do that again,” Rachael told Us Weekly when they asked if fans should expect to see her on the beach. But it wasn’t a hard no.
She added, “Listen, I’m never going to totally shut the door on anything. That’s not me, but I also feel like it’s pretty soon and I don’t think I’m ready for that.”
Bachelor In Paradise hasn’t started filming yet, so there’s always a chance she could change her mind.
